SHE HAD HER MAIDEN VOYAGE IN 1911, IN SEPTEMBER OF THE SAME YEAR SHE WAS IN COLLISION WITH HMS HAWKE ON LEAVING SOUTHAMPTON, SHE WAS HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS COLLISION. SHE RETURNED TO BELFAST FOR REPAIRS AND WHILST THERE THE TITANIC DISASTER OCCURRED AND DIRECTLY DUE TO THIS TRAGEDY SHE HAD HER WATER TIGHT BULKHEADS MODIFIED AND WAS FITTED WITH EXTRA LIFEBOATS. SHE UNSUCCESSFULLY TRIED TO TOW 'HMS AUDACIOUS' AFTER SHE HIT A MINE IN 1914. IN 1918 SHE RAMMED AND SANK THE GERMAN SUBMARINE U.103 OFF THE LIZARD. IN 1924 SHE WAS IN COLLISION WITH FURNESS LINE'S 'FORT ST GEORGE'. IN 1934 IN HEAVY FOG SHE RAMMED AND SANK THE NANTUCKET LIGHT SHIP. SHE WAS SOLD FOR SCRAP IN 1935 AND PARTLY BROKEN UP IN JARROW AND HER HULK WAS THEN TOWED TO SCOTLAND FOR FINAL BREAKING.
