NORHAM CASTLE

NORHAM CASTLE HAD BEEN BUILT IN 1869 AT GLASGOW, AND WAS A VESSEL OF 698 TONS.SHAW SAVILLE & CO CHARTERED HER FOR THREE VOYAGES DOWN TO NEW ZEALAND.HER FIRST TRIP ON THE COMPANIES CHARTER WAS DOWN TO AUCKLAND IN 1872 ,SAILING FROM LONDON ON THE 22ND AUGUST, AND ARRIVING IN AUCKLAND ON THE 3RD OF DECEMBER.THE SHIPS CAPTAIN FOR THIS VOYAGE WAS CAPTAIN MARSHALL.HER SECOND VOYAGE TO AUCKLAND  WAS IN 1874, THE SHIPS CAPTAIN THIS TIME WAS CAPTAIN CAREY.HER LAST VOYAGE FOR THE COMPANY, WITH CAPTAIN HINKS IN COMMAND WAS IN 1876.SHE LEFT LONDON ON 27TH AUGUST AND ARRIVED IN LYTTLETON ON 24TH NOVEMBER 1876.THESE THREE VOYAGES ON A SHAW SAVILLE & CO CHARTER WERE THE ONLY TIMES THE VESSEL VISITED NEW ZEALAND.
