NEVA WAS A VESSEL OF 850 TONS CHARTERED BY THE WHITE STAR LINE IN 1853 AND MADE A VOYAGE FROM LIVERPOOL TO NEW ORLEANS

THE NEVA WAS A THREE MASTED BARQUE OF 837 TONS BUILT IN 1818.

SHE LEFT CORK 8TH JANUARY 1835 BOUND NSW CARRYING 148 FEMALE CONVICTS AND 33 CHILDREN AND TWENTY SETTLERS.


SHE HIT A REEF OFF KING ISLAND,TASMANIA IN 1835 AND SANK MORE -  THAN 200 WOMEN DROWNED.SOME OF THEM  MADE IT ASHORE TO KING ISLAND BUT THE MAJORITY DIED OF COLD AND
EXPOSURE



THERE WAS ANOTHER VESSEL CALLED NEVA, A AMERICAN-RUSSIAN VESSEL WHICH SANK OF ALASKA IN 1813
