THE NORTH ATLANTIC TO ROTTERDAM AND HAMBURG, MAYBE BREMEN AND THEN UP THROUGH THE
NORTH SEA AND AROUND THE TOP OF SCOTLAND TO GET BACK TO GREENOCK, THIS WAS EUROFREIGHTER
AND ASIA FREIGHTERS REGULAR RUN.SHE COULD CROSS THE ATLANTIC IN FOUR OR FIVE DAYS.THE
RADIO ROOM WORK LOAD WAS HEAVY, NO RTTY ( TELEPRINTER) SO 95 % OF ALL RADIO TRAFFIC WAS
DONE ON THE MORSE KEY WITH AT TIMES DOZENS OF CABLES TO BE SENT SOME STRETCHING INTO 1500
WORDS.EVERY WATCH THERE WAS TRAFFIC TO PICK UP FROM PORTISHEAD / GKA, CHATHAM / WCC,
AMAGANSETT/ WSL AND I USED BALTIMORE / WMH A LOT TO CLEAR TRAFFIC AS HE ALWAYS
SEEMED ON THE BALL ON H.F., HE WAS PROBABLY SLIGHTLY LESS USED THAN THE OTHER
STATIONS.THERE ALWAYS SEEMED A LOT OF TRAFFIC COMING THROUGH NORDEICH / DAN, ST LYS / FFL
AND SCHEVENINHAM / PCH ALSO.
