GLENDEVON WAS A VESSEL OF 954 TONS BUILT IN 1862 BY J J JARDINE & CO OF RTICHIBUCTO AND WAS OWNED BY THE WHITE STAR LINE ( THE BROWN FAMILT HAD A SHARE IN HER ? ) UNTIL 1886 SHE WAS ON THE AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND ROUTE

 SHE LEFT LONDON 28TH MAY 1864 AND ARRIVED IN AUCKLAND ON 2ND OCTOBER 1864 CARRYING SEVERAL ARMY OFFICERS TO NEW ZEALAND

IN OCTOBER 1864 SHE LEFT AUCKLAND BOUND GUAM CARRY A PART OF HER ORIGINAL CARGO AND 350 TONS OF COAL

SHE SAILED FROM LONDON WITH CAPTAIN BROWN IN COMMAND ON 28TH MAY AND ARRIVED 1ST OCTOBER ( A BIT FRAGMENTED YEAR IS MISSING AND ARRIVAL PORT )

IN EARLY 1866 SHE WAS PUT ONTO THE INDIA RUN.

 SHE CHANGED HANDS AND WAS SOLD TO BILBOROUGH & CO IN 1867

SHE  ARRIVED IN MELBORNE ON 12TH JUNE 1867 HAVING LEFT LIVERPOOL ON 22ND FEBRUARY  1867 CARRYING 101 PASSENGERS. HER AGENTS THERE WERE LORIMER MARWOOD & ROME

GLENDEVON WAS A IRON BARQUE OF 336 TONS BUILT BY WILLIAM DOXFORD & SONS LTD AT PALLION SHE WAS LAUNCHED ON 9TH SEPTEMBER 1865 HER OWNERS WERE GEO H LONGRIDGE OF SUNDERLAND - SHE WAS LOST IN 1868

A VESSEL CALLED GLENDEVON LEFT LIVERPOOL IN DECEMBER 1867  AND DISAPPEARED ON VOYAGE AND WAS NOT HEARD OF AGAIN - THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY THAT THIS INFORMATION REFERS TO THE 336 TON IRON BARQUE GLENDEVON ABOVE

GLENDEVON / LLESQUEHUE / ARAUCANIA WAS A IRON VESSEL BUILT IN 1880 ( LAUNCHED 1ST NOVEMBER 1880 ) SHE HAD BEEN BUILT BY PALMERS SHIP BUILDING & IRON COMPANY
AT JARROW.SHE WAS A VESSEL OF 1,884 TONS.SHE WAS FITTED WITH A ONE SCREW ENGINE 178 HP

SHE WAS WRECKED IN 1914 ON THE COAST OF CHILE.
