ENVOY

ENVOY WAS A BARQUE  OF 389 TONS SHE HAD BEEN BUILT BY HENDERSON & CO OF MIRAMICHI AND LAUNCHED IN JULY 1860.SHE WAS OWNED BY TONGUE & CO OF LIVERPOOL

.SHE WAS CHARTERED BY THE WHITE STAR LINE FOR A VOYAGE TO VANCOUVER ON 10TH APRIL 1864

THERE IS A REPORT OF HER BEING CHARTERED BY THE WHITE STAR LINE IN 1864 AND DOING A VOYAGE FROM LIVERPOOL TO VICTORIA, THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN CUTTING IT A BIT FINE TO FIT BOTH VOYAGES IN DURING 1864

THERE WAS A VESSEL CALLED ENVOY WHICH WAS LOST ON 8TH NOVEMBER 1864 BUT SHE WAS A SCHOONER OF 92 TONS

ENVOY

THERE MUST HAVE BEEN WAS TWO VESSELS CALLED 'ENVOY' AT THIS TIME - THE DATES DO NOT MAKE SENSE OTHERWISE

A VESSEL CALLED ENVOY DID  A VOYAGE FROM LIVERPOOL TO NEW YORK LEAVING ON 22ND JANUARY 1851

A REFERENCE TO ENVOY  GOING FROM IRELAND TO QUEBEC IN 1851 & IN 1852 ( SHE DID THREE VOYAGES IN TOTAL TO QUEBEC )
