ELECTRIC WAS BUILT IN 1854 IN CALIFORNIA.

SHE SAILED FROM  FROM GREENOCK ON THE 22ND JANUARY ARRIVING IN PORT CHALMERS ON 3RD JUNE 1863. THE MASTER ON THIS VOYAGE BEING CAPTAIN MARSHALL.

SHE UNDERTOOK ANOTHER VOYAGE, LEAVING GRAVESEND ON THE 30TH SEPTEMBER 1866, ARRIVING IN AUCKLAND ON 22ND JANUARY 1867. HER MASTER FOR THIS VOYAGE WAS CAPTAIN LETHWAITE. 

ITS LIKELY THAT HER FIRST VOYAGE TO NEW ZEALAND  WAS ON AN ALBION LINE CHARTER, WITH HER SECOND VOYAGE BEING ON A  SHAW SAVILLE & CO CHARTER.

ELECTRIC WAS A WOOD SHIP OF 1,106 TONS BUILT AT QUEBEC IN 1857 BY H JONES SHE WAS OWNED BY WILSON & CO. THE SHIPS MASTER WAS CAPTAIN BELL. SHE WAS USED ON THE NEW ZEALND ROUTE

THE WHITE STAR CHARTERED HER  AND SHE WAS THEN BOUGHT BY THE WHITE STAR LINE IN 1860.

 IN 1864 SHE WAS SOLD TO ALFRED CLEVE   (SYDNEY / DUNEDIN  ) AND WAS AT BLUFF THE SAME YEAR, WHERE SHE WAS CONDEMNED BY THE AUTHORITIES THERE, HOWEVER  IT SEEMS THAT SHE WAS REPAIRED AND SOLD ON AGAIN.

SHE WAS LOST OFF THE COAST OF AFRICA IN 1870.

ELECTRIC WAS  A VESSEL OF 1,046 /1,273 TONS BUILT AT STONINGTON CONN BY IRONS & GRINNELL AND LAUNCHED ON 5TH SEPTMBER 1853 SHE WAS REGISTERED IN NEW YORK

SHE WAS OWNED BY G ADAMS AND LATER OWNED BY THE GERRY FAMILY, LATER SHE WAS TO SAIL UNDER THE GERMAN FLAG BEING PURCHASED FROM BROWER OF NEW YORK BY R M SHOMAN OF HAMBURG WHO CONTIUED TO USE HER ON THE NORTH ATLANTIC TRADE

ON THE 7TH NOVEMBER 1872 WHILE ON A VOYAGE FROM HAMBURG TO NEW YORK SHE HAD TO BE ABANDONED IN POSITION  40N 55W LEAKING CONDITION AND FULL OF WATER

NO WHITE STAR OR SSA LINE CONNECTIONS AS FAR AS I AM AWARE FOR REFERENCE ONLY AS THERE WERE SEVERAL VESSELS OF THIS NAME OPERATING EITHER AT THE SAME TIME OR FAIRLY CLOSE TOGEATHER  IN HISTORY
