 CELAENO OFTEN REFERRED TO AS 'LITTLE CELAENO' WAS A VESSEL OF 700 TONS HAVING BEEN BUILT IN ABERDEEN IN 1863

 HER MAIDEN VOYAGE IN 1864 WAS TO PORT CHALMERS, HER CAPATAIN AT THIS TIME WAS CAPTAIN RENAUT - CAPTAIN CHARLES H RENAUT FIRST WORKED ON HIS FATHERS SHIP AROUND 1848 TRADING TO NEW ZEALAND

HE WAS MASTER OF CELAENO FROM 1867 TO 1873

HE THEN WENT ON TO BECOME MASTER OF THE CRUSADER FROM 1874 TO 1876 AND THEN MASTER OF THE PLEIONE FROM 1876 TO 1887

IN 1879 CAPTAIN PAYNE WAS IN COMMAND FOR THE VOYAGE TO NAPIER.


OTHER PORTS VISITED DURING HER CAREER WERE WELLINGTON, NAPIER,LYTTLETON AND PORT CHALMERS

 SHE WAS CHARTERED BY SHAW SAVILL & CO AND MADE ELEVEN VOYAGES TO NEW ZEALAND BETWEEN 1864 AND 1879.
