VAN DIEMAN

VAN DIEMAN WAS A VESSEL OF 1,051 TONS AND HAD BEEN LAUNCHED IN 1869.

THE WHITE STAR LINE CHARTERED HER FROM MYERS & CO OF LIVERPOOL AND UNDER THE COMMAND OF CAPTAIN ROBINSON SHE SAILED FOR SYDNEY ON 20TH OCTOBER 1869

THERE WAS A BRITISH IRON BUILT VESSEL BEARING THE NAME VAN DIEMEN BUILT IN SEACOMBE CHESHIRE IN 1869 AND REGISTERED IN  LIVERPOOL WHICH STRANDED ON THE 28TH AUGUST 1885 NEAR DUNGERNESS AND WAS WRECKED

THIS IS MOST LIKELY THE SAME VESSEL BUT I AM NOT 100%  SURE
